About Rancho San Clemente

Overlooking the Pier Bowl and lights of the city, Rancho San Clemente offers some of the best vistas in the southern part of the city. Its subdivisions sit on the gradual rise of the hills, which creates tiers. Because of this layout, many homes and condos here have unobstructed views of the mountains and canyons of San Clemente, not to mention the gorgeous Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. The vibe in Rancho San Clemente feels less like a coastal town and more like mountain living.

Rancho San Clemente has eleven single-family tracts, two of which are gated: Mandalay and Pacific Crest. There are three large condo communities. The majority of housing tracts are connected by Calle Del Cerro, which cuts down on traffic throughout the area.

The architectural styles of homes here are primarily Spanish and Mediterranean, which is common to much of San Clemente. The condo communities of Rancho San Clemente are some of the largest, and they feature amenities that the single-family neighborhoods don't offer, such as community pools and clubhouses.

Area Amenities

The infrastructure is excellent as there are multiple shopping centers nearby and easy access to Central San Clemente and Talega's amenities. There are large shopping centers off Avenida Pico near Calle Del Cerro and Camino Vera Cruz with various eateries, stores, and services. The nearby Talega neighborhood also offers several shopping centers and parks.

Rancho San Clemente offers a variety of activities for people who love the outdoors. Trails abound throughout the area, including the Rancho San Clemente Ridgeline Trail, a 3.5-mile hiking and bike path starting from the top of Avenida Salvador and climbing through the nature preserves. The Gary Player-designed Bella Collina Towne & Golf Club, one of the finest private clubs in all of Orange County, is located off Avenida La Pata. The RSC Tennis and Fitness Club is a private club featuring 19 lighted tennis courts, a fitness center offering workout equipment and classes, and a large club pool.

Rancho San Clemente is also home to some of the best parks in the city, including Rancho San Clemente Park and Richard T. Steed Memorial Park. There are several play areas and rest areas. Active folks will enjoy the sports fields at Richard T. Steed Memorial Park and the free Ralphs Skate Court adjacent to the Memorial Park off Avenida La Pata.

Hermosa Sports Park is nearby; it is a 45-acre park featuring baseball, football, and soccer fields and an aquatic complex with competitive and recreational swimming pools.

Rancho San Clemente is served by Clarence Lobo Elementary School (Preschool-5), Vista Del Mar Elementary School (K-5), Bernice Ayer Middle School (6-8), Vista Del Mar Middle School (6-8), and San Clemente High School.
