About Emerald Lake Hills

Emerald Hills is a census-designated place in an unincorporated section of San Mateo County bordered by Edgewood Road to the north, Alameda de Pulgas to the east, Jefferson Avenue to the south, and Interstate 280 to the west.

Given its proximity to Interstate 280, it's no surprise that Emerald Lake Hills has emerged as a desirable home base for those who commute to the surrounding areas. Residents can reach downtown San Francisco in as little as 35 minutes and San Jose in only half an hour. Plus, the Silicon Valley tech hubs of Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Stanford are even closer.

Emerald Lake Hills originally featured summer homes and cabins, but most of these have been replaced by modern estate homes on generous-sized lots. Many of the luxurious properties here offer stunning views across the San Francisco Bay, and an air of peaceful tranquility shrouds the community in a sense of calm. Quiet, lightly trafficked lanes wind through Emerald Lake Hills. Hiking trails can be found throughout.

Residents enjoy an active lifestyle, taking advantage of the mild climate to spend plenty of time outdoors. There are two lakes within the community, one of which is home to the Emerald Lake Country Club. The second lake is part of the popular 9-hole Emerald Hills Golf Course.

Emerald Hills is primarily residential, with little in the way of commercial activity. That said, residents have access to a wide range of amenities and entertainment in nearby Redwood City, which offers grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, and much more.
