About Newport Coast

The development of Newport Coast began in the 1990s, and there's a wide variety of architectural styles on offer. Residences range from Mediterranean-style single-family homes to magnificent custom-built estate properties. The most sought-after neighborhoods in Newport Coast include Pelican Ridge, Pelican Crest, and Pelican Point, all ultra-luxurious gated communities. Here, residents enjoy the utmost privacy and security and unparalleled views across Crystal Cove to the Pacific Ocean and distant Catalina Island.

One of the great pleasures of living in Newport Coast is being so close to areas of outstanding natural beauty. Residents enjoy spending much of their time outdoors, enjoying the stunning scenery and the Southern California sunshine.

Directly to the south of Newport Coast, Crystal Cove State Park encompasses over 2,000 acres of unspoiled coastal terrain. There are miles of multi-use trails running through the park, passing through canyons and dramatic ocean bluffs. There are also miles of unspoiled sandy beaches, perfect for having fun in the sun. Historic cottages have been preserved along the shoreline as beach rentals, and the iconic Crystal Cove Shake Shack is a popular local haunt, especially on weekend mornings. To the north, Buck Gully Reserve is another popular natural area featuring hiking and biking trails and guided nature walks.

Local golfers are spoiled for choice at the Pelican Hill Golf Club, which offers two 18-hole courses designed by the legendary Tom Fazio. There's always a new challenge to be found here, and the sweeping views never fail to impress. The Resort at Pelican Hill is a popular place to unwind, either at the full-service spa or beside the luxurious Coliseum pool. There are great dining options here, including a casual grill and a high-end Northern Italian restaurant.

Elsewhere, the Newport Coast Shopping Center is home to several excellent dining options and a collection of boutiques, independent stores, and services. Residents do most of their day-to-day shopping at the Crystal Cove Shopping Center, located on Pacific Coast Highway. Here, there's a wide selection of casual dining spots and big-name retailers. For more upscale shopping, locals head to nearby Fashion Island, home to dozens of high-end retailers and a wonderful collection of dining options, all in a relaxing setting.
