Little Tokyo DTLA Info

Little Tokyo sits between the Arts District and Civic Center neighborhoods in DTLA. The housing stock in the community consists of modern condominiums and lofts.

Living in Little Tokyo means quick and easy access to many cafes, restaurants, and bars. Angelinos from all over the city come to Little Tokyo for Japanese food, particularly sushi.

Japanese Village Plaza, a Japanese-themed outdoor mall complete with lanterns and blue roof tiles, is home to several unique shops where you can find everything from clothes to mochi ice cream. Tourists love it, and locals depend on it! For Japanese groceries, be sure to drop by Marukai or Nijiya Markets to fill your pantry and fridge.

Little Tokyo is home to The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA and Japanese American National Museum. The Little Tokyo Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) system is also a cherished local resource.

Bus lines cross the neighborhood, and local subway and train service is as easy as going to Metro's Little Tokyo / Arts District Station (Gold Line). If you like cycling and just want to speed up a few nearby errands, check out the Metro Bike Share option.
