Northwest District, Burbank Info

Burbank’s Northwest District is triangular, bordered by Vanowen Street, West Burbank Street, and North Clybourn Avenue. The northwest corner of the district abuts Bob Hope Airport (BUR)

Houses in the Northwest District are primarily single-family homes from the postwar era. Most are single-story and set back from the street, thus landscaped front yards are standard. Tree-lined streets give the neighborhood a relaxed vibe. Homes are more affordable than much of L.A. County.

Big parks and pocket parks dot the neighborhood. Valley Park has an all-ages skate park, playground, and baseball field. Ralph Foy Park has an indoor roller hockey rink, picnic area, baseball field, and playground. The smaller Maple Street Playground and Vickroy Park have kid’s playgrounds.

Several Burbank Unified School District (BUSD) buildings sit within the Northwest District borders, including Luther Burbank Adult School, Monterey High School, Providencia Elementary School, and Bret Harte Elementary School.

Folks who love buying in bulk love the ever-busy Costco in the neighborhood. What’s more, just a block from the Northwest District’s border, sits the massive shopping complex, Burbank Empire Center.
